Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon no Taki-hen Episodes 2, 3, 4, 5 watch all episodes

"Dark Demon: Kegon Falls in Nikko" is an atmospheric mystical thriller that wins not with spectacle but with a chill under the skin. The story unfolds around the famous waterfall, a popular tourist destination, yet locals whisper about disappearances, strange lights, and the fact that at night the water sounds different—as if it's calling out by name. The protagonist arrives for personal reasons: to find someone, to confront an old wound, or to gather material, and gradually comes to realize that the legend of the dark demon is more than just a campfire story. The deeper they dig, the more reality begins to behave strangely—memory lapses arise, coincidences multiply, faces appear in reflections, and there's a constant feeling of being watched from the forest's deepest shadows. The series deftly weaves together Japanese folklore, investigation, and psychological horror, where the monster isn't always outside; sometimes it's born from guilt and despair. "Dark Demon" keeps viewers on edge through sheer tension and the beauty of its bleak landscapes, with the central intrigue being that the only way to triumph here is by paying with a truth too terrifying to speak aloud.
